Morning, neighbors! I’m back in your inbox this morning with your new copy of the Cincinnati Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what’s happening in town today.
First, today’s weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 88 Low: 67.
📢 I’m looking for business owners and marketers in Cincinnati who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Cincinnati Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that’s you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top four stories in Cincinnati today:
- The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden was just named the best zoo in the U.S. It earned the No. 1 spot in the Best Zoo category of USA Today’s 2022 10Best Readers’ Choice poll. The zoo’s botanical garden took home the second-place spot in the Best Botanical Garden category. (WHIO)
- Hundreds of rallies advocating for gun safety took place across the country on Saturday. National Gun Violence Awareness Day was on June 3 this year followed by Wear Orange Weekend. Over a hundred people gathered at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati to call for an end to gun violence. Participants at the rally heard from gun violence survivors, elected officials, faith leaders, and law enforcement. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
- The “Wizard of Oz” is returning to select theaters across the country in celebration of what would have been Judy Garland’s 100th birthday. Fathom Events said these exclusive showings on June 5 and June 6 will feature a rarely seen musical number. There will be a few showings across the Greater Cincinnati area, however, tickets and seating will be limited. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- A Sycamore District teacher got a huge surprise on her last day of school. Heather Potter teaches at E.H. Green Intermediate School and the faculty knew she needed a new car. With the help of Evan’s Auto Care, her school surprised Potter with a car in better shape than the one she had been driving. The 2003 Hyundai Elantra was part of the company’s loaner fleet but they held a contest to donate the car as a gift instead. Potter was moved to tears; she had been working three jobs to get the repairs needed on her old car. (WLWT Cincinnati)
