West Kelowna gym
The Central Okanagan’s three 9Round Fitness franchises have closed their doors permanently.
In an email to members over the weekend, franchise owners said the closure was effective immediately.
It affects the two fitness locations in Kelowna and one in West Kelowna.
“The last couple years have been very difficult for everyone, but the effects on the gym industry have been devastating,” the email stated.
“Unfortunately, COVID, resultant health measures and closures, and recent cost of living increases have resulted in the gyms no longer being financially viable.
“We truly appreciate the support over the years and hope that you understand that this was a not an easy decision for us. We opened the gyms with the goal of helping people embrace health and fitness as part of their daily lives, and not being able to continue that journey with you is heart-breaking.”
Castanet News reached out to 9Round corporate for comment, but received no response.
Answering machines at the three gyms say only that they are closed permanently.
