Cincinnati Music Festival returns after two-year hiatus

After a two-year hiatus, the Cincinnati Music Festival is back and with an incredible lineup.The COVID-19 pandemic put a pause on the popular festival.But this year’s lineup includes headliner Janet Jackson. “It’s the first time she’s ever performed for the music festival, so I think that is what our fans are most excited about,” Fran Santangelo DiBattista, director of marketing said.The 2022 lineup includes:Thursday, July 21-Ari Lennox and BJ the Chicago KidFriday, July 22- Charlie Wilson, Anthony Hamilton, Toni! Brady Music Center.This year’s event also offers free activities outside the venue.“The one thing that is very different this year, is that during the day there are a ton of free activities, for people to do outside, about, around the stadium. So, downtown, Fountain Square, across the river in Northern Kentucky,” Santangelo-DiBattista said.The festival brings a nice boost to the local economy.A recent study conducted by the UC Economics Center and commissioned by the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau shows the Cincinnati Music Festival provides a $107.4 million economic impact to the region.“We have over 80,000 people coming in from out of town and they all stay at hotels, they all eat at restaurants, they shop in our stores. It’s going to be great for the local economy to see the bump that they haven’t seen in the last couple years,” Santangelo-DiBattista said. The Cincinnati Music Festival began in 1962 and is one of the largest music festivals in the country.
