Coronavirus vaccination: Know all about COVID-19 vaccine gap between 1st, 2nd and booster shots being followed in India and around the world

Currently, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin, Serum Institute of India’s Covishield and Russia-made Sputnik V are in use in India.

While Covaxin is administered in two doses, 4 to 6 weeks apart, Covishield follows a longer gap interval of 12-16 week. In recent news, the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) has recommended reducing the gap between the 1st and 2nd dose of Covishield to 8 to 16 weeks, as per a source, reports IANS.

As far as Sputnik V is concerned, even though a single dose vaccine is available for the same, experts recommend getting two shots of the vaccine, three weeks or 21 days apart.
