Today is Election Day. For months, candidates have been knocking on doors and traveling through their districts to meet with constituents. That all ends today when voters go to the polls and take center stage in the process our nation has been using for more than two centuries to elect leaders.
Those who have not taken the time to learn about the candidates and issues, from local to national, still have time. Our reporters have covered all the races and issues voters will see today on their ballots; if you need information to understand any of the local or state races or issues, we can help you decide.
Our system of government is based on an informed, energized electorate. Newspaper readers tend to be in that category.
For that very reason, it is possible you have cast a ballot already, through early voting or the absentee process. If you have not voted, then you can go to the polls today.
All elections in our country are important — but the stakes here feel different. The U.S. Senate race in Ohio could determine which party controls that chamber. Today, voters will select state representatives, county commissioners and other local offices, and decide the fate of various levies.
These are important issues and races. It’s time to do your part and visit the polls.
Polling places are open until 7:30 p.m. It’s Election Day. It’s our turn. Get out and vote.
