Divya Behl, who runs a booming makeup business by the name of Diva’s By Divya, was the artist behind the glamorous looks of Urvashi Rautela, among other models and actresses during the 11-day Film Festival. The Cannes film festival is one of the biggest film festivals internationally.
The exclusive by-invite-only event saw celebrities in magnificent and stunning ensembles this year as well, as has always been customary. Behind the makeup of a number of the gorgeous actresses and models, was India’s well-known celebrity makeup artist, Divya Behl. From the lush pink-and-peach makeup with the trailing black gown and white angelic look, Rautela was a stunner throughout the Cannes festival, and Divya had a huge hand enhancing the beautiful and widely-adored actress.
Her looks were appreciated by famous international star Leonardo DiCaprio. Divya also got an opportunity to work for an editorial shoot in one of the world’s leading and oldest fashion magazines Lofficiel. The star-studded affair gave Divya a chance to meet a number of popular figures in the Indian film industry and abroad, including Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan,
R Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tamannaah Bhatia, and several others. In Divya’s words, “The festival was glorious, I was awestruck by the brilliance of the whole event. The ambiance was sublime, it was an extremely spectacular experience for me.
The presence of the stellar celebrities was breathtaking. I had a great time with Urvashi Rautela as we explored the beautiful locations of Cannes and Monte Carlo. My time at the Cannes was extremely gratifying and humbling, as I found myself standing proud and tall as a representative of my country at such a prestigious and marvelous platform”.
Talking about the artist, Divya is a persistent and highly talented makeup artist. Apart from following her passion as a makeup artist and building a name for herself in the industry from scratch, she is also a strong businesswoman and stands proud exuding the strength of an empowered woman. She entirely rejects the idea of changing appearances through make-up just to cover up one’s supposed “flaws“ or “imperfections”. She believes that makeup is a way to accentuate a person’s inner beauty, not disguise it under layers of chemical products.
She intensely maintains a firm stand to the opinion that makeup should not be used to alter skin tones or hide marks, everyone has the right to feel comfortable and confident in their own different forms of beauty, regardless of the disparities between each of us. This inspiring ideology shows in her makeup skills, as she manages to overwhelm us by displaying her professional experience, hard work, and talent with the brushes, laying out her splendid makeup looks and the allure it gives to her clients, without applying heavy layers of products that would harm the skin. A woman fit to climb the stairs of success even higher ahead with her strong ethics and sheer talent.
