The refurbishments of the sites are part of the retailer’s New Horizons to revamp its network of stores in the near future.

Pilot has unveiled the first results of its New Horizons initiative to revamp its stores across the United States. The newly refurbished sites are located in the states of Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky and New Mexico and feature several new additions thanks to the retailer’s $1 billion project.
“Completing the first locations of our New Horizons project is exciting, and we look forward to offering our guests the best experiences on the road. This is just the beginning of our plans for the future as we continue to listen to our guests and strive to make their travel easier and more enjoyable,” said Allison Cornish, Vice President of Store Modernization at Pilot, according to a press release published by the news site CStore Decisions.
The newly overhauled locations are Valdosta, Georgia; Shelbyville, Indiana; Sulphur, Kentuckyy; and Tucumcari, Nuevo Mexico. The new additions for each store are as follow:
Valdosta: Brand-new kitchen, grab-and-go hot deli, remodelled Dunkin Donuts and four new self-checkouts.
Shelbyville: Updated interior, four self-checkouts and a new hot deli and soup bar.
Sulphur: Completely remodelled restrooms, new kitchen and storage area and updated Cinnabon.

New Horizons is Pilot’s most significant investment in its store network, with plans to renew more than 400 Pilot and Flying J travel centres and upgrade several other locations across the States. The initiative follows an extensive process of surveying guests, drivers, team members and every aspect of the store experience.
