LAKEWOOD RANCH — The Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch presented nearly $80,000 in grants on March 17 to 20 local nonprofits and Rotary projects with money raised in November at the club’s annual Suncoast Food & Wine Fest.
To date, the club has used proceeds from the festival to award roughly $2 million to charitable causes.
Ladd Waldo, who chaired the Grant Awards Committee, presented grants totaling $79,153 to Big Brothers Big Sisters Suncoast; Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County; Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto; Child Protection Center; Children’s Guardian Fund; The Haven; Feeding Empty Little Tummies; Foundation For Dreams; LECOM; Neuro Challenge; Parenting Matters; Books for Kids; LW Rotary Club’s Clean Water Initiative; LW Rotary’s Cleft Lip/Palate Project; Rotary Club of Palmetto Haiti project; Rotary Gift of Life; Shelterbox USA; Stillpoint Mission; Teen Court; and Tidewell Hospice.
