Sunday’s slate is highlighted by the big Arsenal-Liverpool clash in the Premier League. It’s a heavyweight battle for which we have dedicated an entire betting preview, but the top best bet is included below.
Barcelona is also in action at home and the big question is whether they can rediscover their attacking groove after the frustrations of recent matches.
Check out all our best bets below.
Arsenal vs. Liverpool
- Best Bet: Arsenal to win
- Odds: +155
- Prediction (Win/Draw): Arsenal
I’m getting the better team in better form at home with plus odds? I will take that every time.
The strength of Arsenal this season, pushing them top of the table for most of it, has been their midfield, with Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey forming a formidable partnership. The biggest weakness for Liverpool this season has been…their midfield. Thiago and Jordan Henderson played well midweek against Rangers, giving Fabinho a rest, but there’s no depth there at all.
Add in that Arsenal’s striker Gabriel Jesus is in great form while Darwin Nunez continues to sputter, and the Gunners should regain the Premier League summit. — Kyle Bonn
Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo
- Best Bet: Barcelona -2 goals spread
- Odds: +132 (Sports Interaction)
- Prediction (Win/Draw): Barcelona
Iago Aspas couldn’t carry the burden for Celta Vigo forever. With no service, his goalscoring has dried up, and Celta Vigo have stopped scoring altogether. The best chance creator on this team by xA is left-back Javi Galan, and nobody else on the team has registered over 1.00 xA through seven matches.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are the league’s most formidable attacking force. They’ve inexplicably stumbled against Mallorca and Inter, creating barely any chances in either game, but there’s little to suggest Celta Vigo can stop them.
If you think the drought continues, feel free to take the under, but I’m not about to bet against this incredible Barcelona attack. They’ll need a get-right game in league play before welcoming Inter in a do-or-die match for their Champions League lives. — Kyle Bonn
Kyle saw one of his best bets ruined by Anthony Modeste’s stoppage-time equalizer for Borussia Dortmund. Also, somehow Vinicius Jr. went the entire match against Getafe without a shot on target, while Southampton couldn’t force Ederson into a save with a meager 0.16 xG and torpedoed a +138 parlay.
Simon salvaged the day with the Bochum double chance pick as the last-place team in the Bundesliga shocked Champions League side Eintracht Frankfurt. Meanwhile, Brighton-Tottenham produced the lowest xG in a Premier League game involving a Big Six club, and Juventus didn’t hold up their end of the BTTS bargain as the Vlahovic-Milik forward pairing played poorly and didn’t get much quality service.
