USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren reported Thursday that it had achieved record quarterly revenue for the sixth consecutive quarter.
The company had fourth-quarter revenue for fiscal 2021 of $200.9 million, up from $158.8 million in the same quarter a year ago. Income for the quarter was $12.2 million, up from $5.9 million, and earnings per share was $1.35, up from 66 cents.
USA Truck CEO James Reed said the revenue and EPS were both records for the company for the sixth consecutive quarter.
For the fiscal year, revenue was $710.4 million, up from $551.1 million. Income was $24.8 million, up from $4.7 million, and earnings per share was $2.76, up from 53 cents a year ago.
The trucking division reported quarterly revenue of $119.5 million, up from $104.3 million, and fiscal revenue of $441.1 million, up from $384.3 million. Operating income for the quarter was $11.6 million, up from $6.4 million, and for the fiscal year it was $22.6 million, up from $9.3 million.
The trucking division reported fewer miles but increased rates helped push the revenue per truck per week to $4,290, up from $3,847 in the same quarter a year ago. For the fiscal year, revenue per truck per week was $3,995, up from $3,373.
The logistics division reported quarterly revenue of $94.6 million, up from $65.3 million, and fiscal revenue of $323.4 million, up from $191.9 million. Operating income for the quarter was $4.9 million, up from $3.4 million, and fiscal operating income was $14.7 million, up from $3.6 million.
USA Truck announced last month that it was adding electric vehicles to its fleet.
