Watch Borussia Dortmund ace Giovanni Reyna travel length of pitch and beat five Mexico players in amazing dribble for US

BORUSSIA DORTMUND star Giovanni Reyna left fans stunned with a lung-busting run while in international action for the USA.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder left FIVE Mexico players in his wake after travelling the length of the pitch with the ball at his feet.

Picking the ball up just outside his own 18-yard box, Reyna didn’t have much on in terms of support ahead of him.

So he decided to just put his head down and run.

A drop of the shoulder and quick-feet saw him evade one sliding tackle as the Dortmund man charged towards the halfway line.

He beat the second man by cutting inside past a tired lunge, with the ball glued to his feet.

Another Mexico player tried and failed to rob Reyna of possession in the centre circle – but Reyna’s dancing feet left him on his backside.

By this point Reyna was into the Mexico half on the other side of the pitch to where he had originally picked up the ball.

But nobody was getting it off him as he shifted it with the outside of his right boot past the next defender, before leaving yet another on the floor with a nifty feint.

That made it five defenders left in his dust and Reyna was up to the edge of the Mexico box.

The mesmerising run came to an end there though, as he tried to poke the ball past a sixth man and into the area to free up space for a shot.

This time though it was just one opponent too many, and Reyna was denied what would have gone down as one of the greatest goals of all time.

Reyna’s run lit up what was a drab 0-0 stalemate at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

The point was a valuable one for the USA though.

Victory against Panama in Orlando on Monday will all but secure a place at the World Cup in Qatar later this year with a game to spare.
