The Lakewood YMCA Starz Gymnastics team is headed to Toledo, Ohio today for the YMCA Nationals Gymnastics Championships, which run through Saturday. YMCA gymnasts, who hail from all over the country, had to qualify during the 2021-2022 competition season by obtaining a certain all-around score. The Lakewood Starz have 14 gymnasts attending from levels 2 through 6. Opening ceremonies, which will be held today, will include participation in a team march followed by guest speaker Laurie Hernandez, a former Olympic gymnast. The level 2 gymnasts compete Friday morning followed by levels 3, 4 and 6 on Saturday. Above is the Lakewood YMCA Starz Gymnastics team.
